Connect Liftin' to Claude
Ask Claude about your training and let it edit your programs, using the workouts and plans already in your Liftin' account.
What you need
- Liftin' on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, with iCloud sync turned on. The connector reads the data in your iCloud account, so a workout only exists for Claude once it has synced.
- A Claude account on a plan that supports connectors.
- The Apple Account your Liftin' data lives in. You sign in with that same account when you connect. If you use a different Apple Account, Claude sees an empty account.
Connect from the Claude directory
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Find Liftin' in the directory and choose Connect.
- Sign in with your Apple Account on Apple's sign-in page.
- Back in Claude, start a conversation and ask about your training.
What Claude can do
Claude can read:
- Your workout history and the sets you logged.
- How specific exercises are progressing, including personal records and training maxes.
- Your programs and routines, and what is up next.
- The exercise catalog and your custom exercises.
Claude can also make changes. It always shows you the change it proposes and asks before it makes it. It can:
- Create programs and standalone routines.
- Add, remove and reorder exercises in a routine.
- Update planned sets, rep targets, weights, rest timers, notes and automatic progression rules.
- Update training maxes.
- Create custom exercises.
- Choose which program is active.
There are limits. Claude can't start or log a workout for you, and it can't delete your workout history. Removing a routine or a workout happens in the app. Every change Claude makes syncs to your devices through iCloud, just like an edit you make in the app.
Things to ask
- How is my bench press progressing this month?
- Which muscle groups did I neglect last month?
- What's my estimated 1RM for squat?
- Create a 3-day strength program.
- Add 2.5 kg to every deadlift set next week.
- Plan a deload week from my current routine.
- Which exercises have I not done in 30 days?
- Compare my volume this year to last year.
Sign-in and your data
You sign in on Apple's own iCloud sign-in page. Liftin' never sees your Apple password.
Apple's sign-in session lasts a limited time. So every so often, Claude will ask you to sign in again. That is expected.
The connector runs on Liftin's server at api.liftin.app. It passes Claude's requests to your private iCloud database and returns the answers. Your training data is not stored on that server.
To disconnect, remove Liftin' under Settings, Connectors in Claude. The connector privacy policy has the details.
Troubleshooting
Claude says I have no programs or workouts
You probably signed in with a different Apple Account than the one Liftin' syncs with, or iCloud sync is off in the app. Sign out of the connector and reconnect with the right account. Then make sure the app has synced at least once.
Claude asks me to sign in again
That is normal. Apple's session only lasts a limited time. Sign in again in the conversation and carry on.
A change made in Claude doesn't show in the app
Give iCloud a moment, then pull to refresh. Or open the app on a device that is online.
Something else isn't working
Email support@liftinapp.co or use the support page, and you'll get an answer from the developer.
Liftin' is also available as an app in ChatGPT, set up from the same Integrations screen in the app. On a Mac, the Liftin' Mac app can additionally connect Claude for Mac directly through its own Integrations screen; that is a separate, local connection and does not need this connector.
